Okay, Disney really knows how to make me want to start planning another vacation before I've even finished thinking about the last one. 😂

Disney Cruise Line just revealed a TON about Disney Believe, its new ship arriving in 2027. We're talking an all-new Frozen dinner, an Encanto stage show, a Moana-inspired Grand Hall, beautiful lounges, and even a two-story suite inspired by Magic Kingdom.

And I know. It's Disney. It's easy to look at all the shiny new stuff and immediately think, “Take my money.” But before anybody rushes to book, I want to walk through what's actually coming, which dates matter, and the little planning details I'd be checking for my own family.

The big announcementDisney Believe 2027: everything you need to know first

  • Maiden voyage: December 18, 2027
  • Homeport: Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  • Sailings: Four- and five-night Bahamas and Caribbean cruises
  • Disney island visits: Select itineraries include Castaway Cay, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, or both
  • General bookings open: October 19, 2026
  • Ship: Fourth Wish-class ship, joining Disney Wish, Treasure and Destiny

Disney Believe is built around promise, possibility, and believing in your dreams. It shares some things with the other Wish-class ships, but it's getting its own personality and some genuinely new experiences.

If you're already comparing the different Disney ships, I'd absolutely look beyond which one is newest.

Let's talk itinerariesWhere will Disney Believe actually sail?

Believe starts sailing from Fort Lauderdale on December 18, 2027, with four- and five-night Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries. The exact ports and sea days depend on the sailing you choose.

Some itineraries will visit Disney Castaway Cay. Others will include Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on Eleuthera. And yes, some will visit BOTH Disney island destinations!

That is honestly where my travel-planning brain goes first. Because a family might be so excited about the new ship that they don't realize the cruise they picked isn't visiting the island they were dreaming about.

First impressionsA Moana-inspired Grand Hall? Yes, please.

You know that moment when you step into a Disney ship's Grand Hall and suddenly you're REALLY on vacation? Believe's is inspired by Moana, the ocean and the sky.

There will be ocean-colored details, constellations overhead, a chandelier inspired by waves with a hidden Heart of Te Fiti, and a bronze statue of Moana, Pua and Heihei.

I'm already picturing all the family photos people are going to take there.

The one my kids would noticeOaken's Table: A Frozen Family Feast

This might be one of the biggest family announcements. Disney Believe is getting a brand-new Frozen dining experience called Oaken's Table: A Frozen Family Feast.

It's set in a Scandinavian summerhouse courtyard where Oaken and his family host the celebration, with reimagined Frozen songs and appearances from Anna and Kristoff. And it's a different chapter from the Frozen dinner on Disney Wish.

I LOVE when dinner is part of the entertainment instead of just being the thing we squeeze in between everything else. Especially on a family cruise, because sometimes getting everyone to agree on dinner is its own adventure. 😂

Two familiar restaurants are returning

  • 1923 — the elegant restaurant celebrating Disney animation
  • Worlds of Marvel — superhero-inspired dining and storytelling

ShowtimeEncanto is getting a full stage show!

For the first time, Encanto is becoming a full theatrical production aboard a Disney cruise ship, exclusively on Disney Believe.

Mirabel's story will come alive with colorful costumes, elaborate sets, Colombian cultural influences and songs from the movie by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

And yes, we can talk about Bruno. 😂

This is the kind of show that would make me want to put the entire family in the theater, even if someone claimed they weren't that interested five minutes earlier.

Tangled: The Musical is coming back, too

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider return in a reimagined version of Tangled: The Musical, with redesigned sets and effects. Disney Seas the Adventure is also returning, so there will be plenty of big Disney storytelling onboard.

For grown-ups tooThe new lounges sound SO good

Disney didn't forget that grown-ups want spaces to enjoy, too. There are some really creative lounges coming to Believe, and I love how different they sound from one another.

Wishing Well — Snow White

This one is inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, with a Queen's castle-style bar, a courtyard with white blossoms and red apples, and a performance area that takes cues from the dwarfs' cottage.

Sea Notes — The Little Mermaid

Ariel's underwater world becomes a piano lounge with a pearlescent piano, ocean-inspired decor, live music and specialty drinks. Honestly, this sounds beautiful.

Skygazers — an observatory-inspired pub

Think stars, celestial maps, old astronomical instruments and hidden Disney references, plus specialty drinks, light bites and live sports.

Haunted Mansion Parlor is returning

The spooky Haunted Mansion-inspired lounge is also coming to Believe. If you love the attraction's little hidden details, this is one to keep on your list.

More Disney storiesZootopia, Inside Out, Big Hero 6 and more

Gazelle — a Zootopia entertainment hub

Gazelle will host family activities during the day and adults-only entertainment later on. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde will star in a new interactive family show where guests help solve a mystery.

Inside Out: Joyful Sweets

Nearly 20 flavors of ice cream and gelato, rotating treats and more of the Inside Out 2 emotions, including Anxiety and Envy. Disney clearly knows I have a weakness for a good vacation dessert.

Big Hero Sips and Café Kakamora

Two new cafés will take inspiration from San Fransokyo in Big Hero 6 and those mischievous coconut pirates from Moana. Both will serve coffee, tea and specialty beverages.

Even the kids club entrance gets a story

Disney's Oceaneer Club will have a Monsters, Inc.-inspired entrance, including a Code 2319 reference. It's the little things that make me laugh.

Where everyone sleepsLet's talk Disney Believe staterooms

Cabins aren't the flashiest announcement, but they're one of the FIRST things I'd want to get right for a family. Believe's standard rooms feature art inspired by Moana, Coco and Inside Out.

Disney says about 70% of staterooms have verandahs, more than 450 connecting doors will help families stay near one another, and most rooms keep the split-bathroom layout that can make getting ready with kids so much easier.

If you have a larger family or you're traveling with grandparents, please don't assume two random cabins will work just because they're on the same deck. I'd check the actual room arrangements and location first.

The Royal Reef and Royal Rose Suites

There are two new Royal Suites inspired by The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Beautiful details, luxury accommodations, and yes, probably something I'll enjoy looking at even if I'm booking a regular cabin. 😂

The Believe Tower Suite

This one is wild. A TWO-STORY suite inside the forward funnel, sleeping up to eight guests, with details inspired by the lands of Magic Kingdom, Cinderella Castle, fireworks and balloons.

Meanwhile, I'm over here excited when a cabin has enough room to keep everyone's shoes out of the walkway.

What I'd actually bookIs Disney Believe worth it for families?

Here's the part I care about most: a brand-new ship doesn't automatically mean the best vacation for everyone. I would compare Believe with other Disney ships and even other cruise lines before deciding.

Four nights or five nights?

A four-night cruise could be perfect if you're trying Disney Cruise Line for the first time or don't have much time off. But if the budget works, I would seriously compare five nights. There is SO much to do that one extra night can mean less rushing and more actually enjoying yourself.

What are your kids into?

If your kids are big Frozen, Encanto, Moana or Zootopia fans, Believe might feel extra magical. But if another Disney ship features more of their favorites, I wouldn't rule that out just because it's older.

Would I automatically choose a verandah?

Not necessarily! I love a nice balcony, but sometimes an inside stateroom makes more sense for the budget. It depends on how your family uses the room, how many people are traveling and how much you care about outdoor space. That's why I'd review the cabin choices instead of just picking the cheapest—or the fanciest.

Don't forget the total vacation budget

The cruise fare isn't the whole vacation. Transportation to Fort Lauderdale, a hotel the night before, gratuities and extra activities can change the total. I always want people to understand those numbers before getting too attached to a sailing.

And if this is your very first cruise, I've got more planning help for that too.

The newest ship is exciting. The right vacation for YOUR family is better.

Mark your calendarWhen can you book Disney Believe?

General bookings open October 19, 2026. Certain eligible returning Disney Cruise Line guests and other qualifying groups may have earlier booking windows.

If you've got your heart set on a particular date, suite or connecting cabins, I'd start talking about the options BEFORE booking day. Getting organized early doesn't promise the lowest price, but it does mean we can be ready to look at the choices when bookings open.

The quick questionsDisney Believe FAQs

When is Disney Believe's first sailing?

December 18, 2027, out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.

When do bookings open?

October 19, 2026 for general bookings. Some eligible guests may have earlier booking opportunities.

Where is Disney Believe going?

Four- and five-night Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries, with certain sailings visiting Castaway Cay, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, or both.

Is Disney Believe an entirely new ship?

Yes! It's the fourth Wish-class ship, so you'll recognize some favorites but also find new Believe-specific experiences.

What experiences are actually new?

The Frozen family feast, Disney Encanto, the Moana Grand Hall, Wishing Well, Sea Notes, Skygazers and Gazelle are among the big announced highlights.

Would Disney Believe be good for younger kids?

There are lots of family-focused dining, entertainment and kids' spaces. I would still look at their ages, interests and the length of the cruise before deciding it's the perfect match.

Can a travel advisor help me book?

Absolutely. That's exactly what I do! I can help you compare itineraries, cabin options and the details that get confusing when you're staring at a bunch of tabs.

Let's make it happenWant me to help you plan Disney Believe?

I am genuinely excited about this ship. But what gets me MORE excited is helping another family find a trip they're going to be talking about long after they get home.

Tell me who's going, when you're thinking about traveling, what your kids love, and what you hope to spend. I'll help you look at Disney Believe and any other options that might fit even better. That's the whole point of planning with me.

And there's something new for my clients, too!

We just launched Aboardly, our new vacation experience designed to make looking forward to your trip feel like part of the adventure. Because why should all the fun wait until you're actually on the ship?

The Disney magic is exciting. Finding the trip that actually fits your family is my favorite part.
