A short glossary so the terminal is not a foreign language

Muster, tender, guarantee cabin, obstructed view. I will keep translating. You do not need to memorize a cruise forum.

Words you will hear

  • Muster

The required safety briefing / station. Not optional.

  • Tender

A smaller boat to shore when the ship cannot dock.

  • Guarantee cabin

You booked a category, not a specific room. Can work. Can also surprise you.

  • Obstructed view

A lifeboat or structure sits in the window. The rate is lower because the view is partial — worth it for some cabins, frustrating for others.

  • GTY / TBA

Assignment later. Ask Ashley if that trade is worth it for you.
