How many Disney days do you actually need?
Most first Walt Disney World trips feel better with about four to six park days, plus a rest or resort afternoon if you can swing it. Magic Kingdom often wants more than one day. EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom can each be a full day — or a lighter half-day if you already know you will skip a land.
A practical starting range
If this is a first visit with school-age kids, I usually start around four park days: Magic Kingdom twice if it is the must-do, then EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom as energy and budget allow. Repeats and park people can fill a week. Toddlers often do better with fewer gates and more pool time. Teens who care about rides may want Hollywood Studios and EPCOT to stay full days. Ticket products and park reservation rules change — I will match the live ticket to your dates instead of treating this range as a package.

A starting conversation — not a rule
Shorter trips often look like
- Magic Kingdom plus one other park
- A rest morning or resort afternoon
- Arrival the day before the first park day
Longer trips often look like
- Three or four parks with room to repeat a favorite
- A pool day that is on purpose
- Time for EPCOT to be food, not only rides
