Lightning Lane, without the folklore
Disney replaced Genie+ with paid Lightning Lane passes. The names, what they cover, and when you can buy them matter. The prices do not belong on this website.
The three products, conceptually
Lightning Lane Multi Pass
Disney describes this as planning ahead: choose up to three Multi Pass experiences and arrival windows in a park, then add more one at a time after you redeem (subject to availability). With Park Hopper benefits, later selections can be in another park.
Lightning Lane Single Pass
A separate paid entry for specific high-demand attractions that are not part of the Multi Pass menu. You do not have to buy Multi Pass to buy a Single Pass. Each Single Pass is for one attraction.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass
Disney describes Premier Pass as one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane entrance in one park for one day — a convenience product, not a strategy puzzle. It is typically the most expensive option and is not required.
When you can book
Disney’s materials describe earlier purchase windows for many guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel or select hotels, and a shorter window for other guests. Confirm the current window in My Disney Experience for your reservation type.
