Getting around

Disney transportation is a planning decision, not a footnote

The parks are not next door to each other in any useful sense. How you move is how the week feels.

The network, conceptually

  • Buses

The workhorse for many Disney hotels and some parks. Reliable in the Disney sense — not instant.

  • Monorail

Magic Kingdom area and the EPCOT line for specific hotels. Iconic, and genuinely convenient when you are on it.

  • Skyliner

Gondolas linking select resorts with EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Weather and brief stops happen; it is still a favorite for many families.

  • Boats and walking

A few resorts and parks connect on water or on foot. Those pairs are worth choosing on purpose.

  • Your own car or rideshare

Parking rules and fees change. A car can be freedom or a daily parking project. I will ask which you actually want.
